Care Instructions
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Your Oscar & Frank eyewear is crafted from premium Italian acetate and designed to last. Proper care will help maintain its quality and longevity.
Cleaning
Gently clean your lenses using a soft microfiber cloth to remove dust and smudges.
Avoid paper towels, tissues, or rough fabrics, as these may scratch the lenses or damage protective coatings.
For a deeper clean, use lukewarm water and mild soap, then dry with a clean microfiber cloth.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals
Do not use household cleaners, solvents, alcohol-based products, or chlorine (including pool water) on your eyewear. These substances can damage both the lenses and frame finish.
Storage
When not in use, always store your sunglasses in their protective case to prevent scratches and accidental damage.
Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat, such as leaving them inside a car or in direct sunlight, as this may cause warping.
Handling
Handle your frames with care. Avoid excessive bending or twisting, particularly when the frames are cold, as acetate becomes less flexible in lower temperatures.
Always use both hands when putting on or removing your sunglasses to maintain proper alignment.
Water Exposure
While acetate frames are water-resistant, prolonged exposure to water may cause damage over time.
Avoid wearing your sunglasses while swimming or showering. If they do get wet, dry them thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Maintenance
Occasionally check the hinge screws to ensure they remain secure. If needed, gently tighten them using a small screwdriver.
Moulding & Adjusting Your Frames
Italian acetate is designed to be adjustable for a personalised fit. If your frames require minor adjustment, you may gently reshape them using the following method:
-
Prepare
Ensure your sunglasses are clean. You will need a bowl of hot (not boiling) water and a soft towel. -
Warm the Frame
Hold the section you wish to adjust over the steam or dip it briefly into hot water for approximately 20–30 seconds. This softens the acetate. -
Adjust Gently
Carefully bend the arms or adjust the fit using even pressure. Make small adjustments gradually to avoid over-bending. -
Set the Shape
Once satisfied, run the adjusted area under cool water to set the frame into place. -
Dry
Pat dry with a soft towel.
